What is Fastlane Teen?
Fastlane Teen is a completely free, one-year membership designed specifically for teen drivers. If you are a licensed driver between the ages of 16 and 19, you can sign up in minutes and it will not cost you a single penny. No credit card. No payment of any kind. No auto-renewal. No catch.
If you get a traffic ticket during your membership year, we will fight it for you completely free of charge. Your first eligible ticket is fully covered. A real attorney, in a real courtroom, fighting your real ticket — and you pay nothing. Not a dollar. We mean it.
If you get additional tickets during your membership, those are handled at a 25% discount off the standard legal fee. And if you need help with a more serious matter like a DUI, you get 25% off that too.
There is genuinely no reason not to sign up. It is free.
It requires no payment information and it does not auto-renew.
If you never need it, you’ve lost nothing. But if a ticket does come, you’ll be glad you have it.
Why this matters for teens
Teenage drivers already pay some of the highest insurance premiums of any age group. A single traffic ticket on a teen's driving record can increase those premiums even further — and the increase can last 3 to 5 years.
Many families treat a teen's first ticket like a bill: just pay it and move on. But paying a ticket means pleading guilty. It goes on the teen's record, the insurance company finds out, and premiums go up. By then, it is too late to undo.
Fastlane Teen catches that first mistake before it becomes a multi-year financial problem. It takes a few minutes to set up, and it gives families peace of mind that if a ticket comes, they are already covered.
What is included
Every Fastlane Teen membership includes:
- First eligible ticket free
Your first qualifying traffic ticket is contested at no cost — no legal fee
- 25% off additional tickets
If you receive a second or third ticket during your membership year, each is handled at a 25% discount. For context, the average legal fee for a teen traffic ticket on OTR is around $500 (teen tickets tend to cost more due to juvenile court procedures, stricter court treatment, and cases that may require multiple appearances). At 25% off, that comes down to around $375.
- 25% off other legal matters
DUIs, misdemeanors, and other non-ticket cases are handled at a 25% discount off the standard legal fee
Who can sign up
Fastlane Teen is open to licensed drivers between the ages of 16 and 19. The teenager must sign up themselves — parents and guardians cannot enroll on behalf of their teen. Accounts not created by the teenager will be void and nullified.
Can parents follow along?
Yes. After a teen books a case through their Fastlane Teen membership, they can invite their parents or guardians as case participants. Case participants can view all case details, receive notifications, see the case chat, and communicate directly with the law firm.
This is the best way for parents to stay informed. The teen books the case, then invites the parent — everyone stays in the loop.
How to enroll
Visit Fastlane Teen and follow the steps in the enrollment wizard. The whole process takes just a few minutes. No credit card or payment method is required at any point.
When does coverage start?
Coverage begins the day after you enroll. Only tickets received after your coverage start date are eligible. Tickets received before you signed up — or on the same day you signed up — are not covered.
This is why we recommend signing up today, before anything happens.
Every single day, we hear from teenagers who wish they had signed up sooner.
They have a ticket in hand, their parents are stressed about the cost, and they want to know if we will make an exception — cover yesterday's or last week's ticket under the membership they just created.
We get it. We wish we could. But the answer is always no. We cannot backdate coverage, and we cannot make exceptions.
Sign up today and save yourself the headache and heartache tomorrow.
How long does it last?
Your Fastlane Teen membership is active for 1 year from your enrollment date or until your 20th birthday — whichever comes first.
Once the membership expires, you can continue fighting tickets through OTR by booking pay-per-case or by signing up for the standard Fastlane membership.
Fastlane Teen is a one-time membership. Once your year is complete, you cannot sign up again — even if you are still under 20.
Any cases that are in progress when your membership expires will be seen through to completion. Your attorney will continue working on your case until it is resolved, regardless of your membership status.
Can I cancel?
Technically, yes — you can cancel your Fastlane Teen membership at any time. But there is no reason to. It is free. Cancelling would be like throwing away a free voucher for a full tank of gas. Why would you? Just keep it until you need it or until it expires.
If you do cancel, the membership ends immediately. You cannot reinstate a cancelled membership or start a new one, even if you still had time remaining on the original plan. Any cases already in progress at the time of cancellation will still be seen through to completion.
What tickets are covered
All civil and non-criminal traffic tickets received after your enrollment date are eligible. This includes:
- Speeding tickets
- Red light and stop sign violations
- Improper lane changes
- HOV lane violations
- Cell phone and distracted driving tickets
- Seatbelt violations
- Other common moving violations
In states where routine traffic violations are treated as misdemeanors — such as speeding tickets in Texas and Georgia — those tickets are covered too.
What is NOT covered
- Tickets received before enrollment
Only tickets received after your enrollment date qualify
- Serious criminal charges
DUIs, hit and run, reckless driving, and other criminal matters are not included as free cases. However, Fastlane Teen members receive a 25% discount on these case types
- Court fines and state fees
These are imposed by the court, not by OTR, and are not part of the membership
Why does OTR do this for free?
It is simply some good karma that we are putting out into the world. Teenagers are new to driving, and they suffer the most from traffic tickets — higher insurance, marks on a fresh driving record, and financial stress on families that are often already stretched. At OTR, we want to do our part to help teenagers get off on the right foot.
If teenagers appreciate the experience and choose to continue using OTR into adulthood, we will be happy. If they want to take advantage of their free year and never use OTR again, that is completely fine too. No strings attached.
